In 2008, my father was heading steers at a local jackpot when his horse fell with him, and he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. He has recovered far better than doctors said he would, however he does still live with many handicaps and disabilities. Whenever I hear the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” I think of two things. First, I think of the reason for the season—Christmas and celebrating Christ’s birth. Second, I think of cowboys descending on the bright lights of Las Vegas by the thousands for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, as well as the World Series of Team Roping Finale. I just returned from our time spent at the NFR. It was a success on many levels–we had a safe trip to and from, I got to spend some time with great people that I don’t normally see otherwise, I got to meet some amazing new people at our booth, and I realized how much Go Rope has truly grown in just one year.
