I established Go Rope™ Clothing Co. with the tagline “Life is short, go rope” in part due to tragedy. In 2008, my father was heading steers at a local jackpot when his horse fell with him, and he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Whenever I hear the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” I think of two things. First, I think of the reason for the season—Christmas and celebrating Christ’s birth. Second, I think of cowboys descending on the bright lights of Las Vegas by the thousands for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, as well as the World Series of Team Roping Finale. I just returned from our time spent at the NFR. It was a success on many levels–we had a safe trip to and from, I got to spend some time with great people that I don’t normally see otherwise, I got to meet some amazing new people at our booth, and I realized how much Go Rope has truly grown in just one year. The New Year is upon us, which means many are making resolutions for 2016. Gym memberships and home exercise equipment sales are spiking. I sit here at my iPad, with my workout complete for the day, drinking a vanilla protein powder/spinach concoction that I’m pretty sure even the barncats would turn their noses up at.
